This policy explains what the Etsy Customer Service AI Bot Chrome extension and msgassistant.com ("we", "us") collect, why, and what we do with it. Questions: contact@msgassistant.com.

What we collect

• Your account: your email address and password, how many messages you have used, your plan, and the name of the Etsy shop the account is used with (so two shops' customers never mix in one account). When you ask for a new password, we email you a link to set one (it works for 30 minutes, once); we send no other emails. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us only your email address (and that it is verified) - nothing else from your Google account.
• Your reply settings (the tone, your name and your store's name, your policies and store rules, the word limit), kept with your account so they follow you to another computer.
• Billing: your plan, its status and renewal date, the message packs you buy, and the customer and subscription references of our payment provider, Stripe (with your billing address and tax ID when tax is collected at checkout). Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
• When you click one of the extension's buttons on Etsy: the messages of the conversation you have open, the order details Etsy shows next to it (the items, their variations and personalization, the order date and number, the delivery status and tracking number, the shipping method, how many orders the buyer has placed and the buyer's Etsy display name), the note you typed and your reply settings (tone, names, policies, store rules). The extension skips the address block of Etsy's order panel and your private notes; messages are read as the buyer wrote them.
• Only if you turn on "Save conversations I open": the messages of each Etsy conversation you open (yours and the buyer's), the buyer's display name and the order number, so your store summary can learn your products, policies and writing style. This is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. The extension never opens Etsy pages by itself.
• Your store summary and the replies the AI writes for you, and a log of each request (what kind of request it was, the AI's answer and - for the older version of the extension - the text it sent, never your password), so we can count your messages and fix problems. Nobody reads your conversations, replies or logs unless you ask us to (support), or for security or legal reasons.

Your to-do list (the conversations you mark with the flag in Etsy's reply box: the buyer's display name, the item, the order number, the start of their last message and your note) stays in your browser; when Chrome sync is on, Chrome copies it to your other computers. It is never sent to our server. The extension shows it on Etsy's message pages and, next to the matching order numbers, on Etsy's Orders page.

How we use it

Only to provide the service: to write your replies, to keep your store summary, to count your messages, to manage your plan and payments, and to answer your support requests. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your data for anything unrelated to the extension's purpose.

The use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share it with

• OpenAI, which processes the text of a request (the conversation, order details, your note and settings, your store summary, and your saved conversations when it builds your store summary or when you use the "past conversations" button) to write the reply or the summary. Under OpenAI's API data policy it is not used to train their models.
• Stripe, which processes your payments.
• Google (Google Workspace), which delivers our emails, such as a password reset link.
• Cloudflare, which carries the traffic between the extension and our server, and Vultr, which hosts our server.

These companies may process data in the United States and other countries.

Our home page, its Turkish version and the pricing page load the Google Ads tag (Google LLC). It sets cookies that tell us whether a visit came from one of our Google ads and whether the visitor then clicked "Add to Chrome", so we can measure our ads; nothing you type on this website is sent to Google. You can block these cookies in your browser or turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com. The account, sign-in and password reset pages set no cookies and load nothing from other companies' servers.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Your buyers' information

Etsy messages and order details contain personal information about your buyers. You remain responsible for it under Etsy's policies and the law, and we process it only on your behalf, to provide the service to you.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, your saved conversations and your store summary while your account exists. Reply drafts and the texts in our request logs are deleted after 90 days. You can delete your saved conversations and store summary, or your whole account, yourself in the extension (Store memory tab, "Your data"), or email us from your account's email address at contact@msgassistant.com. Payment records may be kept as long as tax law requires.

Why we may use it

We use your data to provide the service you signed up for (writing your replies, your store summary, your plan and payments). Saving the conversations you open is based on your consent: it is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. Payment records are kept because tax law requires it.

Your rights

You can see, correct, download or delete the data we keep about you, and object to how we use it. Most of it you can do yourself in the extension: the reply settings and the store summary can be read and edited there, and the "Your data" section deletes your saved conversations or your whole account. For anything else - a copy of your data, a question about it - email us from your account's email address at contact@msgassistant.com; we answer within 30 days. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Everything the extension and this website send to our server travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Children

The service is for Etsy sellers and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the extension or by email.
